Pesticide making with sand, dust of bricks and stone
A fake pesticide factory was unearthed in Hakimpur upazila of the district on Saturday night.
A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate and Hakimpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdur Rafiul Alam also sentenced the factory owner to two moths' imprisonment and fined him Tk 50,000.
The convicted, Habibur Rahman, son of Abdul Zabbar, is a resident of Chowdhury Dangapara area in the upazila.
Following information that Habibur had been making adulterated pesticides, using dust of sand, bricks and stones, a mobile court accompanied by police raided the factory in Chowdhury-Dangapara area, said Anwar Hossain, officer in charge (OC) of Hakimpur Police Station.
The law enforcers detained factory owner Habibur and seized huge quantity of adulterated pesticide making materials from the factory, he said.
"After conviction by the mobile court, Habibur was sent to Dinajpur jail the same night," the OC added.
