A man was stabbed to death in Narayanganj’s Araihazar upazila today.

The victim was identified as Md Swapan, 30, our Naryanganj correspondent reports.

Shafiqul Islam, an inspector at Araihazar Police Station, told The Daily Star Swapan and his friend Selim were in a conflict over ownership of a mobile phone.

Last night, Shamim, Habibullah and a few others were looking for Selim. They found Swapan instead in Kahindi Bazar area and stabbed him indiscriminately, he said.

Locals rushed Swapan to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed around 10:00am today, the police official said.

A case has been filed in this regard. One accused Khaled, 30, has been detained.
