Man hacked to death in Bogura

A 35-year-old man was hacked to death in Bogura's Akashtara area today.

The deceased Md Shakil, 35, son of Shafiqul Islam, was a resident of the Naruli Talpatti area in Bogura town.

Inspector Rezaul Karim (investigation) of Sadar Police Station said criminals swooped on Shakil with sharp weapons while he was travelling on his motor cycle.

He was rescued by locals and later died on the way to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, said Rezaul.

Sonaton Chakraborty, additional superintendent of police (Sadar Circle) said Shakil was known as a criminal in his locality and was accused in two murder cases filed with the police station. He was out on bail when the murder took place.

"The murder took place centring a feud stemming from an extra-marital relationship," the police official said based on primary investigation.

Attempts are underway to nab the attackers, he added.
