Jubo League leader shot

A Jubo League leader was shot by a gang of criminals in Joypurhat Sadar upazila on Sunday night.

The victim was identified as Sabu Hossain, 32, son of Nurul Haque Mondal, of Dhutiapara in Sadar upazila of Joypurhat and a member of Jamalpur union Jubo League unit.

Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Muminul Haque said a gang of criminals fired on Sabu when he along with his three friends was catching fish near his home on Sunday night. He was shot in his belly, Muminul said.

Locals rushed him to Joypurhat Modern Hospital from where doctors referred him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura as his injury was serious.
