Journalist Saifuddin Sabuj passes away
Journalist Saifuddin Sabuj, a prominent community radio personality in Bangladesh, has passed away at a hospital in Dhaka.
Saifuddin, 50, breathed his last at 8:30pm last night at a private hospital in the capital. He had been undergoing treatment for his diabetic and other ailments there since April 6, said a press release.
Saifuddin served as the Bangladesh bureau chief of Radio Veritas Asia, a Philippines-based radio, for more than two decades. He also edited a quarterly magazine Prokirti.
Besides, he worked as an advisor to the community radio project under Agricultural Information Service, supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization.
Hailed from Siddhirganj of Narayanganj, Saifuddin was involved with different cultural and social activities.
He left his mother, wife, three sons, and a number of well-wishers to mourn his death.
