Govt temporarily increases bus fare by 60 percent

The government has reset bus fare across the country, increasing it by 60 percent.

Road Transport and Bridges Ministry issued a circular in this regard today.

The new rate would be applicable during the Covid-19 crisis period and the previous rate would be reinstated once the crisis is over, the circular said.

A committee led by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Chairman yesterday proposed 80 percent hike of bus fare.
