Farmer’s throat-slit body recovered
Police yesterday recovered the slit-throat body of a farmer from a septic tank of his house in Kalihati upazila, three days after he went missing on Saturday.
The deceased was Chan Miah, 40, of Bashi village under Elenga municipality in Kalihati upazila.
Police, however, detained Chan's wife and her friend for their alleged involvement in the murder.
Family sources said a general diary (GD) was filed with Kalihati Police Station in this regard on Sunday.
Primarily, victim's family members and neighbours suspect that Chan's Razia Begum might have committed the crime allegedly over her extramarital affair with one Halim Mia.
Meanwhile, during primary interrogation, Razia admitted that she with the help of Halim killed Chan by slitting his throat and later dumped the body inside the septic tank of the house.
Inspector (Investigation) of Kalihati Police Station Rahedul Islam said following Razia's confession police recovered the knife, used in the killing, and other evidences.
