College girl found dead in Natore

A college girl was found dead at her bedroom in Singra upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased, Nusrat Jahan Tripti, 21, an HSC second-year student at Singra Gol-e-Afroz Government College, was daughter of Abdul Awal of Chhotochaugram village in the upazila.

Quoting the victim's family members and neighbours, police said after being scolded by her father allegedly over a family issue on Tuesday night Tripti went to sleep at her room.

The following morning, neighbours saw her body lying on the bed and informed the police, who recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar Hospital for autopsy, Officer in Charge (OC) of Singra Police Station Nur-E-Alam said.

Primarily they suspect that it is a murder as marks of injuries were found on the victim's body, the OC said, adding that they detained victim's parents from the spot and later released them after quizzing.

The reason behind the death will be clear after the autopsy, the OC added.
