Bus service on Dhaka-Natore highway remains halted for 2nd day

Direct bus services on Dhaka-Natore and Rajshahi-Natore remain suspended for the second consecutive day today following a conflict between local bus owners, causing immense sufferings to the passengers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The bus service will not continue till the issue is resolved, our Natore correspondent reports quoting Lonkon Podder, chairman of Natore Bus Owners Association.

No bus from Dhaka and Rajshahi will be allowed to pass through Natore, he said.

Yesterday, the problem erupted when Natore bus owners demanded to halt services of a bus on Rajshahi-Jessore route and its owner from Rajshahi running two more bus services on the same route and gaining profit.

As a sequel to this conflict, Rajshahi bus owners shut all the bus services run under Natore Bus Owners' Association.
