Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines AM Masaddique Ahmed, also the chief executive officer (CEO) of the national flag carrier, has been relieved from the post.

The decision was taken at the board meeting of the national flag carrier Tuesday night, Additional Secretary Md Mokabbir Khan told The Daily Star.

Director (Flight Operations) Captain Farhad Hossain has been appointed as the acting MD and CEO of Biman, he also said.

The decision has been taken following allegations of various kinds of irregularities and corruption in Biman for the last several years.
