Assistant Superintendent of Police Mostafizur Rahman, also media officer of Rab-12, said Jony with the help of some of his accomplices picked up the twelve-year-old victim on May 12 when she came out of her room to respond to the call of nature.

Failing to trace her whereabouts, the girl's family later lodged a general diary with Tarash Police Station and also submitted a complaint to Rab-12 in this regard on Sunday.

After tracking the kidnappers' mobile phone location, a team of Rab-12 led by Major Moshiur Rahman, deputy commander of Rab-12, raided Jony's house around 1:30am early yesterday and rescued the girl.

The law enforcers also arrested Jony and his father Kafi from the spot.
