4 killed in Dhamrai road crash

At least four people were killed and 20 others injured as a minivan carrying them crashed into a roadside tree on Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka this evening.

Two of the deceased were identified as Intej, 24, and Nazrul, 25, our local correspondent reports quoting Dipak Saha, officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station.

The driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheel after a bus dashed it while overtaking in Kalampur area around 7:45pm, leaving the four dead on the spot, the police official said.

All of the victims were on board of the van and they were heading to Manikganj, he added.

The injured were rushed to different clinics.
