Naogaon polytech student murdered

A student of Naogaon Polytechnic Institute was stabbed to death on Friday.

The deceased was Shyamal Chandra, 19, son of Gopal Chandra of Sonapur village in Patnitola upazila of Naogaon, and a 6th semester student of Computer Science of the institute.

Police said a gang of 5/6 stabbed Shyamal near the institute around 8:00pm.

He was rushed to Naogaon General Hospital and later shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) as his condition worsened.

But, the RMCH authorities referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Yesterday morning, he died on the way of Dhaka.

As the news of his death spread, students of Naogaon Polytechnic Institute agitated, demanding immediate arrest of the killers. 

Superintendent of Police Mozammal Haque said three people were arrested in connection with the killing.
