Nahida next high commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei

Nahida Rahman Shumona, who is currently serving as director general of regional organisations wing at the foreign affairs ministry, has been appointed as the next high commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei.

Nahida, a foreign affairs cadrebelonging to the 17th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), is a career foreign service officer, says a ministry statement.

In her distinguished diplomatic career, she served in various capacities at Bangladesh missions in Brasilia, Ottawa, Kolkata and Canberra.

Nahida obtained her master's degree in diplomacy and international trade from Monash University, Australia.

She also holds a masters and honours degree in Englishliterature from Dhaka University. She is also a recipient of a fellowship in trans-boundary water law from Geneva University.

She is married and has two sons.
