Kid abducted from Cox's Bazar rescued in Bandarban, 6 held
A seven-year-old boy, abducted from Zianagar area in Cox's Bazar town on Thursday, was rescued from Lama upazila of Bandarban yesterday.
The law enforcers also arrested six abductors, Abul Kashem Babul, Ehsan, Putia, Sajeda Begum, Hossain Majhi, and Rehana Begum.
Major Ahmed Hossain Mohiuddin, camp in-charge of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Cox's Bazar, said Babul, Ehsan and Putia picked up Md Rakib, son of Md Kamal Majhi, while he was playing in front of his house in Zianagar area on Thursday.
Later, the kidnappers phoned Kamal and demanded Tk 2 lakh as ransom for his son's release.
Kamal informed the matter to Rab, who arrested Kamal's brother Hassan Majhi, Sajeda Begum and Rehana.
Later, according to their confession, members of the elite force raided Paglirga area in Lama and rescued Rakib from there.
Rab also detained Babul, Putia, and Hossain's son Ehsan, who allegedly kidnapped the boy centring a family feud over sharing of their ancestral properties.
