Hasina requests Cameron to review cargo ban
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today requested British Prime Minister David Cameron to review the UK’s decision regarding ban on direct air cargo from Dhaka to London.
In reply to Cameron’s March 8 letter to her, Hasina also expressed her wishes to work together with the British government regarding the improvement of all aspects of airport security.
Diplomatic sources said Hasina signed the letter to Cameron this morning for sending it in quickest possible time.
The UK has imposed a ban on direct air cargo from Dhaka to London until further notice as Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport failed to meet some international security requirements.
In a letter to Hasina on Tuesday, Cameron called for a visible improvement of airport security by March 31 to avoid further measures like banning of direct Biman flights from Dhaka to London.
