It’s the last chance: CJ to govt
“It’s the last chance,” said Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, who was heading a seven-member bench of the Appellate Division, while hearing a petition seeking time for issuance of the gazette notification.
Earlier, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam placed the petition before the apex court.
The SC passed the order while hearing the Masdar Hossain case, popularly known as the judiciary separation case.
On May 15, the court once again expressed annoyance at the government for seeking more time to issue the gazette notification on the disciplinary and conduct rules for lower court judges.
The court adjourned hearing of the case for next two weeks.
Earlier the apex court expressed annoyance and dissatisfaction on several occasions as the government failed to issue the gazette notification in line with its order.
