Dead child cries out!

A newborn cried out two hours after she was declared dead at a private clinic in Domar municipality area of the district on Friday.

Locals said one Parvin Akhtar, 20, wife of Moksedul Islam of Chikonmati area in the municipality, was admitted to Doctors Clinic with labour pain on Friday night.

Owner of the clinic Dr Masum and on-duty doctor Nihar Ranjon carried out a surgery on Parvin. The doctors declared the child dead soon after the woman gave birth to a baby daughter.

By this time, the family members made all arrangements for burial of the child at the local graveyard and came to the clinic to receive the body.

But the newborn surprisingly cried out, making all stunned.

As the news spread, locals and the relatives of Parvin thronged the clinic and confined the doctors and staffs there for about an hour.

Later, the clinic owner pacified the agitators with promise of bearing all expenses for treatment by sending the newborn and her mother to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
