CPB leader shot dead in Munshiganj

A local leader of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) was shot to death by unidentified criminals in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj this evening.

Deceased Shahjahan Bachchu, 55, was former general secretary of the district unit CPB and the publisher of Bishakha Prakashani, said Asaduzzaman, assistant superintendent of police in Sirajdikhan circle.

Criminals riding two motorcycles fired gunshots at Shahjahan at Kakaldi intersection in the upazila town around 6:40pm, leaving him dead on the spot, the police official told our Munshiganj correspondent.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
