A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Gotamari border point in Hatibandha upazila early Friday.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders were trying to intrude into the Indian territory through the border point in order to bring cattle.

Sensing their attempt, a patrol team of BSF from 21 Bara Maricha camp open fired at the Bangladeshi cattle traders, leaving Amulla dead on the spot, said  Lieutenant Colonel Bazlur Rahman Hayati, captain of 15 BGB battalion of Lalmonirhat.
