Ducsu Vice President Nurul Haque Nur, now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, has alleged that a section of students carried out attacks in a bid to kill him yesterday.

“An attempt was made to kill me. I was attacked three times and it went on until I was injured,” Nur shared the horror of the attack.

“Right side of my body might be made dysfunctional,” Nur told The Daily Star at DMCH this afternoon .

Describing that Ducsu is not a person rather an institution, said Nur, who has repeatedly been victimised of physical assault since he has been made VP, “Chhatra League openly entered the Duscu office and created a storm that defeated the atrocities of Pakistani occupation forces,” he said.

No one will ever speak, if the countrymen do not raise their voices and build resistance against them, Nur said adding “No one could save Buet student Abrar, Chhatra League men killed him.”

“We are being beaten by them regularly. We have been kept lying half-dead. It will not bring any result by visiting us at the hospital and expressing sympathy by giving status on Facebook,” he said.

“I lodged an attempt to murder case on December 18. Yesterday, I came under attacks. I am not getting any remedy,” the Ducsu VP said.

Activists of a faction of Muktijuddho Moncho, mostly comprised of Chhatra League men, beat up and injured Nur, storming into his office at the Ducsu building yesterday.

At least 27 of his supporters were injured in the attack after Ducsu Assistant General Secretary and BCL leader Saddam Hussain threatened Nur with dire consequences if he didn’t leave his office.
