2005 series bomb blasts: 2 JMB men get life term in Jhalakathi

A Jhalakathi court today sentenced two to life in jail in connection with a case filed for the 2005 series bomb blasts in the district.

The convicts are Farid Hosen and Ziaur Rahman of Jhalakathi Sadar upazila, reports our local correspondent, quoting Public Prosecutor Abdul Mannan Rasul.

Judge Sheikh Tofayel Hosen of Jhalakathi Special Tribunal Court-2 passed the order against the two after 14 years and six months of the incident.

The case was filed on August 17, 2005 for the bomb blasts in five spots in Jhalakathi.

Following the attacks, banned militant group Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh claimed responsibility for the blasts in 63 districts.
