Kushtia General Hospital now a coronavirus-dedicated facility
Only coronavirus patients will be treated at Kushtia General Hospital as it has been declared a corona-dedicated hospital.
The Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the matter to the hospital authority today, our local correspondent reports.
General Hospital Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Tapash Kumar Sarkar said 180 patients have been admitted to the hospital till this morning. Of them, 142 are Covid-19 positive.
The rest were admitted with coronavirus-like symptoms.
Seven people diagnosed with Covid-19 died in the last 24 hours in Kushtia. The infection rate is 42.07 percent in the district, Civil Surgeon Anwarul Islam said today.
Tapash Kumar Sarkar said, "There are 1,386 people in home isolation in Kushtia till 9:00am today."
So far, 6,912 people have been infected and 180 have died in the district, which has been put under lockdown since Monday morning.
