10th day of Satkhira lockdown: Covid-19 positivity rate dropped to 47.31% in 24 hours
On the 10th day of lockdown, Covid-19 positivity rate has dropped to 47.31 percent in Satkhira today as 44 more samples, out of 93, tested positive in 24 hours (till 8am today). Yesterday, the positivity rate was the highest in the district at 64.19 percent, said Jayant Sarkar, medical officer of Satkhira Civil Surgeon's Office.
Meanwhile, three people have died with coronavirus symptoms in 24 hours. So far, 250 people have died with symptoms and 53 people have died of the virus in the district, said Satkhira Civil Surgeon Dr Hussain Safayat.
At least 2,420 tested coronavirus positive after examining samples of 10,667 people in the district so far, and 54 Covid-19 positive patients are currently receiving treatment in Satkhira Medical College Hospital and Sadar Hospital, Safayat added.
Police are patrolling in Satkhira city and have barricaded almost every road to control movement. Still people are not fully aware as many were seen moving about without wearing masks in Boro Bazar and Mill Bazar area, reports our local correspondent quoting Satkhira Superintendent of Police Md Mostafizur Rahman.
Satkhira Deputy Commissioner SM Mostafa Kamal said, the mobile court is continuously trying to prevent people from coming out of house.
