Cop-snatcher ‘gunfight’ at New Eskaton

Police recovered Tk 59 lakh after a ‘gunfight’ with alleged snatchers in the capital's New Eskaton area this evening.
A snatcher and a policeman were injured in the exchange of fire, police claimed.
Liton, 32, an alleged snatcher, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with bullet wounds, Shiblee Noman, assistant commissioner (Ramna Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star.
He claimed a sub-inspector was also injured in the incident that took place around 7:30pm.
Details of the incident could not be known immediately.
