Cop burnt in pre-polls violence dies

A police constable, who sustained burn injuries during pre-poll violence in Laxmipur, died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital early today.

Imamuddin, 48, who sustained 40 percent burn injuries died at the ICU of DMCH around 2:00am, hospital sources said.

The victim was burnt badly when miscreants hurled a petrol bomb targeting on-duty police personnel at Komoltola Government Primary School polling centre in Ramganj upazila on January 4, a day before the general election.

He was rushed to the DMCH on the following day.
