Valuables of 4 businesses gutted

Fire gutted valuables, worth Tk 3.40 lakh, of four business establishments in Bayezid area of Chittagong city yesterday.

The fire originated from an electric short circuit in one of the tin-roofed structures -- two restaurants, a stationery shop and a grocery shop -- at Jharoar Dighirpar around 5:15am and soon spread to the adjacent others, said Fire Service sources. Fire fighters extinguished the blaze around 6:20am, they added.
