Two 'muggers' held in Ctg

Police arrested two alleged muggers in Purbo Madarbari area in Chittagong city while they were preparing to mug someone early yesterday.

On information, Sadar Ghat police arrested Md Mostafa and Md Selim, both 45, while their other cohorts managed to flee. Police later recovered some five machetes, six cell phone sets, four hand bags, a tablet, a laptop bag and a travel bag from different houses in the port city.

The gang of 20 mainly targets passengers at dead of night, said police.

Police also recovered three CNG-run auto-rickshaws which the gang used during different mugging incidents.
