Teen killed over ‘cricket match fight’ in Khilgaon
A teenager was stabbed to death in Dhaka's Khilgaon today, for what is being said over a recent playground fight centering a local cricket match.
Unidentified assailants stabbed Al Amin, 17, in Nandipara around 5:30pm, Mashiure Rahman, officer-in-charge of Khilgaon Police Station, told The Daily Star.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 7:30pm and pronounced dead by doctors, the OC added.
A dropout from Dhaka Model School, Al Amin used to reside with his grandmother in Khilgaon. He studied up to tenth grade at the school, according to what could be known.
Joynal Abedin Joy, one of his friends, told police that Al Amin was stabbed by 10-15 people over a fight that took place few days ago over a local cricket match.
Amena Begum, the grandmother, said she knew of the fight.
The friend, Joy, accused Javed, Sohel and Salam for stabbing Al Amin.
