Sylhet now 'free' of child marriage

Sylhet has been declared as the third district after Moulvibazar and Habiganj in greater Sylhet region free of child marriage.
The announcement came at a programme arranged by the Sylhet district administration at Amanullah Convention Centre yesterday. Speakers, at a rally held after the programme, said stern actions will be taken if anyone tries to arrange any early marriage in the district.
NM Ziaul Alam, acting secretary of Cabinet Division, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Jamal Uddin Ahmed, SMP Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Joynal Abedi were present among other in the programme.
