Sust VC trashes 'white paper'

The vice chancellor of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) yesterday dismissed the allegations levelled against him by a section of pro-Awami League teachers.

Prof Aminul Haque Bhuiyan called the allegations "exaggerated", "false", and "baseless". His opponents published a "white paper" on Thursday, accusing him of nepotism, fund abuse, and inefficiency.

Under the banner of "Mohan Muktijuddher Chetonay Udbudhdo Sikkhak Brindo", they are demanding resignation of Bhuiyan, a former professor of Dhaka University, since mid-April. The protesters staged a sit-in in front of the VC's office for fifth consecutive day yesterday.
