Road crashes kill 5

Five people were killed and 30 others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In Tangail, Fatema Akter, 5, of Habla Bilpara village was killed when a truck ran her over while she was crossing the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Natiapara area of Delduar upazila.

Following the incidents local blocked the highway disrupting the vehicular movement for one hour. They also demanded a speed breaker on the spot.

In Bogra, three people were killed 30 others injured when a bus skidded off the Rangpur-Dhaka highway as the driver lost his control over the vehicle in Majhipara area of Shibganj upazila.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

In Habiganj Sadar, Tajul Islam Faruk was killed as a truck collided head-on with his car on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Nasratpur area.
