Road crash kills two

Two persons were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Pacchar of Shibchar in Madaripur   early yesterday.

Witnesses said a Shibchar-bound goods-laden truck hit them when they were crossing the road, leaving fish trader Rabi, 42, dead on the spot and Zahirul Islam, a teacher of Madarchar Islamia Furkania Madrasa, seriously injured.

Injured Zahirul Islam was admitted to Pacchar Royal Hospital. Afterwards, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at noon.

Traffic Sergeant of Shibchar Pacchar police outpost Arif Hossain confirmed the incident and said police seized the truck but the truck driver and helper escaped.
