Prime suspect of Swandwip double murder arrested

Police arrested three accused, including the prime accused, in Baten Market area double murder case of Swandwip municipality of Chittagong, on Thursday night.

The prime accused Fazle Elahi Mishan alias Mishu, 20, was arrested in Khulna and was taken to his Swandwip house to recover his arms when his gang opened fire on the law enforcers, said police who also fired back and arrested Md Rubel and Lutfor Rahman.

Mishu received bullet injury in his leg and was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Police recovered two foreign pistols, two rifles, two shotguns and seven machetes from the house.

According to police, on September 21, Mishu and his gang opened fire when some lessees refused to pay them extortion at the cattle market.
