Road crashes kill 7, injure 13

Countrywide road accidents killed seven people and injured 13 others yesterday.

Our Bogra correspondent reports, Riyad Hossian, 10, son of Milon Hossian of Uttor Gokul village died when a truck hit his bicycle on Rangpur-Dhaka highway at Shobuj Nursery.

Following the accident locals blocked the highway for an hour demanding punishment for the killer.

A correspondent from Chittagong reports, a rickshaw puller, aged around 20, died as a truck hit him in Agrabad area of Chittagong city.

Our Bhola correspondent reports, Md Sharif, 18, of Fassion village died when a three-wheeler dashed against a tree on Bhola-Charfassion road in Nayeberpul area of Charfassion upazila.

Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, Barikul Islam, 32, of  Sat Roshia village died when a truck hit his motorcycle at Ranihati Bazar of Shibganj upazila.

Meanwhile in Naogaon, Israil Hossain, 35, of Sherpur village died and 10 others were injured when a bus hit another parked bus in Adda area of Niamotpur upazila.

Our Tangail correspondent adds two people were killed and three others injured when a truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw on Bangabandhu Bridge Link road in Jokarchar of Kalihati upazila.

The deceased were Aliza, 15, and Morzina, 15, students of Goriliabari Dakhil Madrasa.
