RCC demolishes 150 illegal structures

Rajshahi City Corporation yesterday demolished some 150 illegal structures on footpaths of different city streets.

Some 37 persons were fined Tk 1,03,000 for building those, said RCC public relations officer Mostafij Mishu.

The city corporation's executive magistrate Samar Kumar Paul led the drive while police and the corporation employees assisted him.

The drive was conducted at City Bhaban to Laxmipur, Laxmipur to Medical Gate, C&B intersection, and Zero Point to New Market streets.

During the drive, the mobile court of the executive magistrate also shut down three shops that grabbed the space of a passengers' shed at Laxmipur intersection.
