Razzaq Foundation launches essay contest on Bangabandhu
Gyantapas Abdur Razzaq Foundation is organising an essay competition on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in two different categories for first to twelfth graders and university-level students within the deadline on February 18, 2021.
In a media announcement yesterday, the foundation said the purpose of the competition is encouraging research, writing and thinking at all levels of education.
"Bangabandhu's dream and the achievements of Bangladesh" is the topic for school and college-level students and the word limit is 1,750-2,000, while "The role of students and teachers in the emergence of Bangladesh" is for currently-enrolled university students with a word limit of 2,000-2,500. First, second and third place winners in the first topic will receive Tk 5,000, Tk 3,500 and Tk 2,500 respectively; the prize is Tk 10,000, Tk 7,500 and Tk 5,000 in the second topic.
Every entrant must mention their name, education institution, class or department, mobile number and email and the writing must be academic and follow the appropriate format and rules of citation, said the media announcement.
It said the language of the write up could be Bangla or English. The essays will be graded on research, writing, analysis, organisation and coherence and not on any other factor.
