Novel on India's partition out

A discussion was held on "Bharat Vager Osrukona", a novel written by Korunamoy Goswami in poet Shamsur Rahman auditorium of Bangla Academy yesterday.

Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan, director general of Bangla Academy, Mofidul Haque, a trustee of the Liberation War Museum, and Abul Hasnat participated in the discussion, presided over by Prof Emeritus Anisuzzaman of Dhaka University.

"The novel described the lives of many who were the victims of the partition of India in 1947, the readers' will feel their sorrow," said Mofidul Haque.

"I met the protagonist unexpectedly, and after hearing his story, I was inspired to write. This book is not about politics, rather a tragic insight into human sufferings," said the author, who is an educationist, researcher, musicologist and a columnist from Bangladesh.
