Muggers kill bKash sales rep

Armed muggers killed a bKash sales representative and looted Tk 1.25 lakh from him in the capital's Uttar Badda area yesterday.

The deceased was Mahbub Mridha, 26, a staff of a bKash agent named Roots Distribution in the area.

Mahbub along with his assistant Tuhin was returning to his shop after collecting money from bKash retail agents when two muggers waylaid them, said Officer-in-Charge of Badda Police Station MA Jalil.

The criminals pushed Tuhin on the ground and brandished a gun at Mahbub asking for the money. As Mahbub denied giving the money they shot him in the shoulder and fled with the money, he added.

Locals rushed Mahbub to Kurmitola General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Mahbub, of Barisal, was a resident of Madya Badda, said his brother S Rahman.
