UP member attacked, colleague sued

A union parishad member was injured in an attack in Mymensingh yesterday.

Mustakim Mia, 35, a member of Ward No-4 of Bokainagar Union Parishad, was taken to a Dhaka hospital.

There has been a rivalry between Mustakim and another UP member over establishing supremacy, said Gouripur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun, quoting Mustakim's family.

Around 12 men allegedly led by the UP member attacked Mustakim with iron rods and sticks in Gouripur area, said the OC.

Mustakim's family sued some 12 persons, including Swapan.
