MCCI mourns death of Prof Jamilur Reza

The contributions made by National Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury have been highly remarkable and substantial, said Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI), in a message mourning his demise.

"The country has lost one of its brightest luminaries," said MCCI President Nihad Kabir in his tribute.

Prof Jamilur's role in imparting high-quality education, especially in the engineering and technology fields, has resulted in the creation of many accomplished leaders, said a press release.

His work in the field of infrastructure building in Bangladesh will remain a veritable legacy for a long time to come. Almost all recent major infrastructure projects, including Jamuna Bridge and Padma Bridge, bear his mark, as he was the most reliable and trusted mind to go to for the government, it added.

MCCI prays for the eternal salvation of his departed soul and conveys deep sympathies to his bereaved family.
