Low turnout at Ctg train station
Low turnout marked the last day of advance train ticket sale for Eid-ul-Azha at Chattogram Railway Station yesterday.
Md Ansar Ali, divisional commercial manager of railway, said only 10 percent of the tickets [for August 11 trip] of Sonar Bangla and Subarna Express were sold till 3pm yesterday.
Sale of other train tickets was also low compared to that of last couple of days, he added. As people were eager to go home at least two days ahead of Eid, the number of home-goers buying tickets for August 11 was less on the last day, the railway official suspected.
This seems evident as tickets of four inter-city trains out of six are sold out.
On Thursday, tickets for August 10 were on sale, and within four hours tickets of Chattala, Mohanagar Express, Mohanagar Godhuli and Turna Express were sold out.
On Wednesday, around 70 percent of the tickets were finished within the first three hours. The same situation prevailed on Thursday, while around 80 percent tickets remained unsold till yesterday evening.
Ansar Ali said unsold tickets will be available for people at the counters.
Meanwhile, the official mentioned that they have received some complaints over purchasing tickets through railway apps.
“Some said they didn’t receive any confirmation after purchase. We have forwarded the complaints to our Computer Network Systems (CNS) department and those were solved,” he said.
