Kamrul Manir passes away
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's adviser Kamrul Manir passed away in Rajshahi on Friday.
He was 71.
He breathed his last at his home in Rajshahi's Sagarpara area at 4:30am, said former organising secretary of Rajshahi district unit BNP Golam Mostafa Mamun.
Manir had been battling lung cancer for one and a half years, he said. Manir went to India for treatment and stayed there for a year. He returned home a month back, he added.
A lawyer by profession, Manir was also a freedom fighter. He joined BNP in 1979.
Kamrul Manir had been serving as the BNP chairperson's political adviser since 2016.
Manir left behind his wife and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was buried at Tikapara graveyard with state honours.
