Four killed in road crashes

Four people were killed in separate accidents yesterday.

In Cumilla, two people were killed as a pickup hit a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Chauddagram upazila in the morning. The deceased were identified as CNG driver Pear Ahmed (38) and M Bagar (45).

Police said the accident occurred around 9am in Nankora area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway when the pickup hit the auto rickshaw, leaving its passenger and driver critically injured.

The injured were taken to Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, police said.

In Bhola, two people were killed as a trolley skidded off the road and overturned in Jangalia area under Sadar upazila in the afternoon. The deceased were identified as Md Joynal (75) and Md Ohid (55).

Officer-in-Charge of Bhola Sadar Police Station Md Enayet Hossain said the bodies were sent to Bhola Sadar Hospital for autopsies.

Police seized the vehicle.
