Fariha Nusrat passes away
A second-year student of Jahangirnagar University died at a Dhaka hospital early yesterday.
Fariha Nusrat Zerin, 21, was undergoing treatment at Central Hospital's intensive care unit.
She was admitted there on Saturday with disseminated intravascular coagulation and other complexities, Prof ABM Abdullah, head of medicine at the hospital, told The Daily Star. “She was brought to us at a critical stage.”
Zerin was daughter of Shihab Sarkar and Joynab Begum. Shihab, a journalist, said, “She had been suffering from allergies from an early age. This time, we couldn't understand the level of her sickness.”
JU teachers and students expressed shock at her untimely demise.
