Dhaka University (DU) authorities yesterday urged students to prepare their national ID cards immediately, if they do not have one, to get Covid-19 vaccine.

In a press release, authorities said for vaccination, students should provide information within July 6 on DU's webpage (ssl.du.ac.bd/student), using their institutional email ID. The information will be sent to the Election Commission, and after getting its response, students will get further information through e-mail.

Meanwhile, the authorities finally decided to waive transport and hall fees since March 2020, when the university was  closed, due to the pandemic.

In a press release,  authorities said considering students' limitations and demand, they are waiving fees till the university reopens.

Students who already paid the fees, will have their accounts adjusted later, it said.

On June 20, The Daily Star published a report on students' frustration  about the fees, as they did not use dormitory and transport facilities  for around a year and half.
