Deal inked for circular rail’s feasibility study
A deal was struck today for feasibility study of the circular railway in Dhaka, which aims to curb the poor state of traffic condition in the capital city.
Bangladesh Railway signed the deal with a Bangladesh-China joint venture company for conducting study within a year at the cost of Tk 24 crore.
Bangladesh Railway’s Project Director Monirul Islam Firozi and Chu Zhuquan, a representative of the joint venture company, penned the contract at Railway Bhaban.
The joint venture company is comprised of China Railway SIYUAN Survey and Design Group Company Limited and two Bangladeshi companies -- BETS Consulting Sevice Ltd, and Engineers and Advisors Ltd.
Rail Minister Nurul Islam Sujan was present at the programme as the chief guest.
