Climate change seminar held at KU
Bangladesh should enhance its ability in combating climate change, rather than depending on global support, said Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Habibun Nahar yesterday.
She was addressing a seminar and workshop titled “Climate Change Agenda for Cultural Heritage in Bangladesh” organised by the Architecture Discipline of Khulna University on its campus. “It is possible to prevent environment pollution by using advanced technology in the industrial sector,” she said.
Beatrice Kaldun, head of Unesco Dhaka office, joined the programme through video conferencing. KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Fayekuzzaman chaired it. Rajesh Kumer Raina, assistant high commissioner of India; and Prof Uttam Kumar Mojumdar, dean of Science Engineering and Technology School at KU, were present as special guests.
