Charukola all set for Pahela Baishakh

To celebrate the Bengali New Year -1426, which falls on April 14, Dhaka University’s Faculty of Fine Art  is taking preparation to bring out traditional procession-- Mangal Shobhajatra.

Since its inception in 1989 by the teachers and students of the faculty, it became a major part of the celebration of Bengali New Year in the country. The Unesco had recognised the traditional Mangal Shobhajatra as the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016.
