BM College: Vice-principal barred from joining office by students
A professor of Government BM College, Barishal could not join his promoted post of vice principal yesterday due to protest by students.
A section of students of the college locked the office of vice principal and the main gate to prevent Prof Kaiyum Uddin from joining office, campus sources said.
Prof Kaiyum said a letter signed by Shrikanta Chanda, deputy secretary of Ministry of Education, asked him to join the post within yesterday.
Principal Dr Mohammad Golam Kibria echoed him.
Md Shaon Khan, a protester, said Prof Kaiyum hatched conspiracy against a teacher who was supposed to be in that post.
Denying the allegation, Prof Kaiyum said followers of district Chhatra League vice president Atiqullah Munim were at the protest.
However, Atiqullah Munim said it was the general students who barred him from joining office.
